Wet, wet, wet

Age group: 10 years + (the quiz is suitable for 8 years +)

Here are two useful fact sheets from the United Nations 'Cyberschoolbus' website:

Split the group into small groups of three or four. Give each group a copy of these fact sheets. Ask them to discuss the following questions:

  • Why is shortage of water such a big problem to a large part of the world's population?
  • What can be done about it?
  • What will the consequences be if nothing is done?

Join back together in one large group and report back.

If you have internet access at your group meeting, try the UN's Water Quiz. If you don't have internet access you could turn it into a game. The questions and answers are HERE. Split the hall into three zones, A, B and C. Read out a question and the alternative answers. Get everyone in the group to run to the zone which they think is the right answer.
