How long it will take: 30 minutes

What materials you will need: Sets of 'Why are poor countries poor' cards. Photocopy the sheet and cut the cards up. You will need one set for 3 to 4 group members

The aim of the activity: To explore attitudes on lending to and borrowing by poor coutries.

What to do:
Split the group into small groups of 3 or 4. Give each group a set of 'Why are poor countries poor' cards. Ask them to discuss each of the statements on the cards and then to arrange them in a diamond ranking - putting the statement they agree most strongly with at the top and that which they disagree most strongly with at the bottom. The other cards are to be arranged in a diamond pattern in between in order of agreement/disagreement.
