What to do:
·Read out the Camp Life story.

Divide group into small teams of 3 or 4 and give each pens and paper. Ask each team to imagine they are living in exile from their home country, with few luxuries and no money. What do you think would be important to you? Make a list (this could be a picture list or a word list)

Come back into whole group. Compare their lists with the lists of the young people from the refugee camps.

Discussion
Is there anything on any of the lists (the Saharawi children's lists or their lists) that surprises anyone?

  • What were the main differences between your own lists and the Saharawi lists?
  • What were the main similarities?
  • Why do we think we need so many luxuries
